Only library membership enjoy the right to borrow - renew - request material from the library. You can be a member of the library if you are: 1.a student enrolled at the University 2.an employee of the University 3. a visiting, honorary and emeritus Professor 4.a visiting and honorary fellow 5. an honorary lecturer 6. an associate tutor 7. a research associate A Town Academic Library ID card and enrolment form are required to join membership. Enrolment forms can be found at the Information Desk. You can borrow up to 6 books for one week if you are an undergraduate student or an employee of the University You can borrow up to 6 books for two weeks if you are a postgraduate student, or if you belong to any other of the membership categories mentioned above. All library membership enjoy the right to borrow all items of the library apart from reference material (encyclopedias, dictionaries, journals, handbooks, etc.) and items belonging to the closed stacks (Historic Collection of the Town Library & Official Gazette). Items - Users shall lose the right to borrow any item for a period of three months, if they return an overdue item a month after the due date. - All users

All members of the library can request material on loan via email, telephone, or by visiting the Circulation Desk. Users will be notified about the requested material only via email. They are obliged to collect the requested material within two working days after the notification. After that period their request is automatically canelled. |

Town Academic Libray, offers to the entire scientific community of the Town University, the opportunity to access the database of the Academic Libraries Link, as well as, those of the publishing firms ABCD, EFGH, IJKL, MNOP and X Institute of Pure Sciences, in order to retrieve articles’ abstracts, or even full text articles, from the scientific journals they publish.

"The loan of an item by a library to another library within the same library system on request." The Town Academic Library, in order to cover the research needs and activities of the Univerity's members, offers the possibility of the Interlending Services & Document Supply. The library provides information items (books, articles, CD-ROMs, etc.), needed by a registered library user, that are unavailable in the library’s collections. In order to use this service, the requested items should not belong in the collections of the Town Academic Library. The main Interlending Services & Document Supply sources are the British Library and Academic Libraries Link. Temporarily, this service is charge free. There is a limit for requests made abroad, up to 10 items per each academic year. Most requests are satisfied within 7 to10 days, but it is advisable to make your request, as far as possible, in advance. The Library is not responsible for any delay on requested items. Right of Interlending Services & Document Supply: All membership of the Town University enjoy the privilege of this service , as long as they are members of the Town library as well. Interlending Services & Document Supply Request form: The request form can be obtained from the Information Desk. Make sure that you sign the declaration by hand and that your personal data is accurate. Be sure of the validity of the bibliographic data. Certification document provided by the faculty secretariat: Under and post graduate students are obliged to bring along with the request form and a Certification document provided by their faculty secretariat, in order to acquire articles from the British Library. This procedure is not necessary for the requested items being available in Greek libraries. Users notification: Users are notified via e-mail or via telephone for the arrival of the requested item(s).

Using computers presupposes a loan card provided by the library staff in the reception desk. All 30 computer workstations are available to the public with free Internet access for 1,5 h. After the expiration of the time limit users may renew their access to the Internet, as many times as they wish, provided there are no other users requesting access. Users can save their work provided they have their own means of storage (floppy disk, CD-ROM, etc.) to save it, since they are not allowed to save anything on the library's computers. No printing facilities are available in the library. |

There are 4 photocopying machines in the the library building. Two of them are on the ground floor and two are on the first floor. Anyone visiting the library can use the photocopying machines. Photocopying presupposes the use of a special magnetic card which can be bought by the coin machine on the ground floor, and costs 1.50 Euro, valid for 50 photocopies. |

There are six group study rooms found on the second floor of the library building. Registered users, who form a group of more than two persons, can use a group study room not longer than 3 hours per working day. Using a group study room presupposes filling in a compliance form, found on the Information Desk. After the expiration of the time limit the group may extend their stay in the room, as many times as they wish, provided there are no other users requesting to use it. |
