The photogrammetric Survey of a Prehistoric Site undergoing Removal. Photogrammetric Record 16(93): 443-456, April 1999 (co-authored with G. Karras, G.N.Makris).
The Laboratory of Photogrammetry undertook the task of thoroughly documenting the fortified neolithic settlement, which was situated on Zagani Hill, at the northern side of the New International Athens Airport. The hill was to be lowered by 40 m for reasons of air security. Using photogrammetric techniques the surrounding wall was documented and unwrapped. Low altitude (8m) photography was used to document and record in detail vital parts of the settlement layer by layer, as archaeologists were investigating them. These parts were carefully removed from the site stone by stone in order to be reconstructed elsewhere. Finally, helicopter photography from a height of 35m was used to produce an orthophoto of the area and provide a detailed Digital terrain Model for the construction of a 1:50 scale model of the arcaeological site.

Today the orthophoto and the model are on display at the small museum of the New Athens International Airport "El. Venizelos" and the removed stones of the vital parts are still waiting for their reconstruction.
