Tsikno-Thursday

Tsikno-Thursday, Sheavyn House, 2 Mar 2000

Tsikna is the wonderfully smelling smoke that is produced when grilling meat. It is the custom in Greece, on the Thursday 60 days before Easter, to grill meat and eat until you can't move. Due to the vast quantities of meat being grilled, there is tsikna everywhere, from which this day has acquired its name, Tsiknopempte, from tsikna and Pempte, Thursday.

On Tsikno-Thursday 2 March 2000 there was a small feast in Sheavyn Flat R, of which you can see a highlight on the left.

Tzatziki

Dia just finished the tzatziki, Sheavyn House, 2 Mar 2000

Tzatziki is made of yogurt, garlic, fine-sliced cucumber, and possibly other ingredients that I don't remember. Don't let my simple exposition of the recipe deceive you; it is one of the most delicious things made in Greece, and it's necessary when you eat kebab, grilled meat etc.

As you can see in the picture, the tzatziki specialist of Sheavyn is Dia.
