Brief Curriculum Vitae 

1.      Personal information 

Professor Michaltsos was born in Athens, in 1944.

He was awarded the Diploma in Civil Engineering from NTUA.

His PhD thesis is on the “Static and Dynamic Problems of Suspended Bridges”, Athens 1976, (in Greek).

Professor of “Dynamics of Structures” and “Structural Analysis of Steel Bridges” in the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA).

He has designed and erected many structures and buildings, such as: Bridges from prestressed concrete, Steel Bridges, bridges from steel with composite deck, over seventy steel sheds for different companies or industries with spans from 30 to 72m, masts and parabolic antennas for the National Greek Organization of Telecommunications, a large number of houses from 3 to 15 floors, and numerous steel structures for many industries.

·      Professor in the School of Engineering of the Greek Army (1970 – 1980)

·      President of the Technical Council of the University of Peloponnese (2002-2008)

·      President of the Technical Council of the Ministry of Education (2002-2006)

·      Founder and director of the company DOMER Ltd,  (manufacturing company of steel works), (1976 – 1996).

·      President of the Hellenic Society of Bridges Study (HSBS).

·      Director of the Structural Engineering section, of the School of Civil Engineering of N.T.U.A. (2004 – 2006).
