Objective |
To become a successful career man as a Civil Engineer in a well known international firm, which deals with large scale structures and evolve my knowledge in Civil Engineering Science. |
|
Education |
2005-2009 Ph.D. Student. Thesis: “Analysis of reinforced concrete structures under seismic excitation with the finite element method” National Technical University of Athens, Department of Civil Engineering.
2004-2005 M.Sc. “Structural Design & Analysis of Structures” National Technical University of Athens, Department of Civil Engineering.
1999-2004 “Bachelors Degree of Civil Engineer” National Technical University of Athens, Department of Civil Engineering. Graduated with 9.08 / 10.0
1994-1997 Majored in Advanced level of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Graduated with 19.2 / 20.0 Lanitio Lyceum A, Limassol, Cyprus. |
|
Experience |
2008-to Current: Programming Programming of a Non-Linear Finite Element code for static non-linear analysis of Reinforced Concrete and Steel Structures.
2005- to Current: Academics Teaching and preparing examinations. Supervising group projects and thesis done by university students.
2000-2007: Civil Engineering Designing reinforced concrete and steel structures (Statics 2007, Fespa, Etabs etc). Supervision of worksites and surveying.
1997-1999: Cypriot Military Reservist Cadet of Officer. Education in faculty of Reservist Officers. Education in Faculty of Mechanically Driven Arms of Transport of Personnel. Commander of Mechanically Driven Arms Company. Office Lieutenant of Company Administration. Promotion in the Rank of Second Lieutenant Reservist.

Work |
2008-to Current: ACE Hellas (software company for civil engineers) Programming of Non-Linear Finite Element code for Non-Linear analysis of Reinforced Concrete and Steel Structures.
2007-to Current: National Technical University of Athens: Teaching Statics V http://users.ntua.gr/markgeo/index_files/Academics.htm http://www.civil.ntua.gr/docs/lessons_2007_08.pdf
2003-to Current: Andreas & Lioutmila Markou Civil Engineers (Cyprus Scientific and Technical Chamber ETEK) Office of Design & Supervision of Concrete, Steel & Wood Structures. Analysing and Designing reinforced concrete and steel structures. Computer support and maintenance. Surveying, worksite supervision.
2007-2008: George Kolonias Civil Engineer Software Consultants. (contract) Analysing and Designing of reinforced concrete and steel structures.
Details of the nature of the Job conducted for the two Civil Engineer Offices. The type of structures that were designed and analyzed were mainly Reinforced Concrete buildings up to 5 stories and luxury residences. The designing and analysis of these projects required knowledge of seismic resistance design due to the fact that the country of Cyprus is allocated in a highly seismic active area. In general my job was to choose the foundation type, create, analyze and modify if necessary the structures frame and finally check and improve its reinforcement.
2000-2005: Blue Island Pisciculture Company. Adviser on issues for the improvement of the dynamic behaviour of the under-water structure at the extension of the pisciculture company. Diving to check on the cages, maintenance, reconstructions and other type of under-water work. |
