Associate Professor Manolis S. Samuelides

 

 

 

 

 

Manolis Samuelides has been member of the academic staff of the School of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens since 1992. In 2003 he was elected Associate Professor. He teaches ship strength, structures and vibrations in post and under graduate courses. 

 

For the last 27 years he has been carrying research in the area of marine accidents, in particular collisions and grounding, accidental limit state of marine structures and simulation of car crashes. He has participated in numerous European and national research projects. He is a member of the International Ship Structures Congress committee on Damage Assessment after Accidental Events and member of the editorial board of Ship and Offshore Structures, an international scientific journal published by Taylor and Francis

 

Since 1999 Manolis Samuelides has been a member of the European patent institute –epi. Being a European Patent Attorney, he represents applicants before the European Patent Office and consults inventors, patent applicants and patent holders, how to safeguard their intellectual property rights. He acquired experience in the field, in the European Patent Office (1987-1992), where he worked for 5 years as a patent examiner, as Vice President (1995 -1997) and CEO (2001-2005) in the Organization of Industrial Property in Greece and as a member of the steering committee of the Liaison Office of the National Technical University of Athens.
