Agios Petros – Dionyssos Weather Station
The station is located in the NorthEast slopes of Mount. Penteli, at an altitude of 470 meters, 10km East of Kifissia and 20 km NE of the city of Athens(see map below). In more detail, the station is right at the “borders” of Dionyssos and Nea Makri, ~700 meters North from the small church of “Agios Petros”, inside the “Dionyssos Satellite Observatory”.
This region's weather is affected by Penteli mountain as well as the nearby South Evoikos gulf (Marathon Bay).
It has very strong North to East winds, as it is located on the top a of a small hill, and temperature, that purely from experience, should be slightly higher than the valey of Dionyssos and around the temperatures of Rea and Drosia. But the building free region can sometimes make the difference. We shall see !
